The Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) is an annual
international film event organized by the Vietnam Cinema Promotion and Development
Association in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, with the aim
of honoring outstanding cinematic works from Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region, and
fostering dialogue and cultural exchange through the language of cinema.
Now in
its third edition, DANAFF III continues to grow in scale and quality, featuring over 100
films, 200 screenings, and the newly introduced Asian Cinema Panorama program, which
showcases acclaimed Asian films from major international film festivals. Beyond the
competition and awards, the festival also offers outdoor screenings, talent development
workshops, and dynamic networking activities for industry professionals.
A major
highlight this year is the Korean Cinema Spotlight, presenting 13 landmark films that
chart the remarkable evolution of Korean cinema — from its roots and reinvention to its
powerful global presence today. This program invites audiences, filmmakers, and critics
to reflect on the resilience and creative spirit that drive cinema forward, while
drawing thought-provoking parallels with the journey of Vietnamese cinema through the
decades.
